Key Gompa
This settlement – monastery, most likely, was founded in the middle of the 11th century. The buildings of the monastery cover a steep hill thus creating a very picturesque monument of urban design. It contains important works of art.
Dhankar Gompa
Located in a dramatic setting, this village and Buddhist temple is on top of 300 metre high cliff. It was founded between the 7th and 9th centuries.
Tabo Monastery
An important Tibetan monastery, it was established in 996 AD. It is fortified with a large wall that encloses a large group of buildings and is an important centre of knowledge with an important collection of writings and artworks.
Masroor Rock Cut Temples (Masrur Temples)
A group of 15 ornate structures made from live stone in the second half of the 8th century in the shape of steep-sided pyramids.
Tabo Caves
A group of ancient, artificially made caves, used by Buddhist monks of the nearby Tabo monastery.
