Ófærufoss
Beautiful, approximately 40 m tall waterfall with two main cascades. It was a true wonder with a thin natural arch over the falls – unfortunately this arch collapsed in 1993.
Fossárfoss (Sveinstekksfoss)
Fine, impressive waterfall, approximately 15 m tall. It consists of a taller drop and smaller one below it.
Fagrifoss
Waterfall of unusual beauty. It is approximately 80 m high and 40 – 50 m wide. The water slides down along a moss-covered cliff.
Fossabrekkur
Some 3 m high and 170 m wide waterfall with numerous small, green islands. This waterfall is like an oasis in the otherwise deserted landscape.
Tröllkonuhlaup
Waterfall on Þjórsá River that here is some 220 m wide. Waterfall is approximately 2 m high, the most impressive part is some 130 m wide. In the waterfalls stand several islands.
Viðey í þjórsá (Minnanúpshólmi)
This 270 by 180 m large island is covered with a virgin forest. Here grow some 70 species of plants.
Hestafoss (Þjórsá)
Some 40 m wide waterfall, approximately 4 – 6 m high.
Búðafoss
Some 180 m wide waterfall, approximately 2 m high.
Árbæjarfoss
Some 7 – 10 m tall waterfall on Ytri-Rangá river. Waterfall is approximately 35 m wide and is rather similar to rapids.
Ægissíðufoss
Somewhat unexpected waterfall in the flattest part of Iceland. This waterfall is only some 3 m high, but the river is some 60 meters wide here and the jagged front of the waterfall – even longer. The water of the stream has a gorgeous blue color.
