Gateway Geyser

An enormous fountain that shoots up to 192 m tall. It forms an ensemble with the Gateway Arch across the Mississippi River, in St. Louis, Missouri. The fountain started to operate in 1995 and erupts for 10 minutes every day during the summer if the wind is not too strong. One of the tallest fountains in the world.

An unusual stone structure, created by Latvian eccentric Edward Leedskalnin (Eduards Liedskalniņš) in the 1920ies. The structure includes stones, each weighing several tons. He built it alone, without the assistance of heavy machinery. For a while, this caused rumors about the supernatural forces of Leedskalnin, but now the construction technologies have been explained.

Terracotta Army

Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang, Shaanxi

Unique monument of culture: buried terracotta sculptures – army soldiers near the mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, made roughly at 210 BC. In total there have been buried more than 8,000 sculptures of soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses, all made in live size and bigger, all depicting individual people.

This monument was built in the landing place of Mumbai as a structure where the arrival of high guests is commemorated. This triumphal arch was built in 1911 – 1924 in the style of Roman triumphal arches and traditional architecture of Gujarat.

Group of valuable historical buildings in Delhi, mainly from the 11th – 14th centuries. Includes Qutb Minar – the highest brick minaret in the world, ornate, massive 72.5 meters high building. A unique monument is the Iron pillar of Delhi – 7 meters high and more than 6 tons heavy pillar of 98% pure iron, not corroding since its production in the 4th century AD (or as early as in the 9th century BC).
