Auditorium Building

A prominent building in Chicago style, designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler. This mixed-use building was built in 1890, it is 73 m high and has 17 floors. It was built as the world’s largest theater and now houses university as well.

Rookery Building

One of the oldest early high-rise buildings, an office building that was constructed in 1888. This ornate building has numerous technological innovations, has 12 floors, and is 55 m high. The building is designed in an Eclectic style – the specific Chicago style.

South Carolina State House

South Carolina’s government house was built in 1855 – 1875. It is shaped in the Greek Revival style. Around the house are located numerous monuments commemorating the history of South Carolina.

Charleston County Courthouse

A historical court building (1790-1792). It has been designed in Neoclassicism style by James Hoban and is a model for his later work – White House in Washington D.C.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation building

Enormous, very ornate administrative building, constructed in the late 19th century in Indo-Saracenic style. Houses BMC – organization responsible about the civic infrastructure in Mumbai.

Perth Town Hall

Magnificent building in Victorian Free Gothic style, built in 1867 – 1870. Much of it was built by convicts.

63 Building

World’s tallest gold-clad building, 249 m tall. Skyscraper was built in 1985. At sunrise its reflection is blinding.

Torre Latinoamericana

140 m (204 m with antenna) high skyscraper with 44 floors, built in 1948 – 1956. First skyscraper in the world built in highly seismically active land.

Þingvellir (Thingvellir)

Unique monument of history – a site where in 930 AD was established parliament of Iceland. It acted here until 1789. The site still contains remains of numerous temporary houses made of turf and rock that were used during the two weeks of assembly.
