Marquette Building
Excellent example of Chicago School in architecture. This 17 floors high office building is 62.5 m high and was built in 1895.
Reliance Building
Early skyscraper, constructed in 1890-1895. It was the first highrise whose glass area takes most of its surface. The building is 61 m high and has 15 floors and is an excellent representative of Chicago School in architecture.
Monadnock Building
One of the most prominent examples of Chicago School in architecture with outstanding, distinct architecture for its time. 17 floors tall structure that was the largest office building in the world at the time of its construction in 1891 – 1893. It is the tallest load-bearing brick structure in the world – 60.5 m tall.
Auditorium Building
A prominent building in Chicago style, designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler. This mixed-use building was built in 1890, it is 73 m high and has 17 floors. It was built as the world’s largest theater and now houses university as well.
Rookery Building
One of the oldest early high-rise buildings, an office building that was constructed in 1888. This ornate building has numerous technological innovations, has 12 floors, and is 55 m high. The building is designed in an Eclectic style – the specific Chicago style.
Tree of Life in Walt Disney World Resort
The centerpiece of Disney’s Animal Kingdom – animal theme park. A sculpted, 44 m high and 15 m wide tree (artificial structure) with 14 stories. In the bark are carved 325 animals.
John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art
An enormous art museum. It was established in 1927 with very rich collections of European and American art. Museum has an extensive collection of Peter Paul Rubens paintings as well as paintings of Lucas Cranach the Elder, Thomas Gainsborough, and many other famous artists. Fine gardens and numerous beautiful buildings.
Lightner Museum
One of two neighboring hotel buildings, constructed in the Spanish Neo-Renaissance style in 1887. Both buildings represent some of the earliest examples of poured concrete buildings in the world. Here was the largest indoor swimming pool in the world.
Spaceship Earth in Walt Disney World Resort
Enormous, 18 floors high ball-shaped structure, constructed in 1982 using numerous innovative technologies. The exposition inside informs about the history of science.
Pirate and Treasure Museum in St Augustine
One of the most interesting pirate-related museums in the world. Contains one of two remaining authentic Jolly Roger flags in the world, authentic pirate treasure chest and other valuables.
