Santiago de Compostela Cathedral
A pilgrimage church of huge importance. This Romanesque cathedral is adorned with later Gothic and Baroque additions – beautiful facades and towers. The main part was built in 1075-1128, the gorgeous western facade in 1738-1750.
Kubu Island (Ga’nnyo)
Approximately 1 km long and up to 20 meters high granitic island in the middle of vast Makgadikgadi Plains – giant salt flats. Area of eerie, unusual beauty, adorned with a group of giant baobabs. Remnants of prehistoric structures – an enormous stone wall and hundreds of circular stone cairns.
Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Abu Dhabi
The eighth-largest mosque in the world, constructed in 2007 as one of the most beautiful religious structures in the modern world. The building has 82 domes rising up to 85 m high. Tallest minaret is 107 m high. White color dominates the design, very impressive is the floral design of the marble courtyard.
Paro Taktsang Monastery
This monastery is in a dramatic setting on the side of a cliff, 700 meters above the bottom of the valley. It was built in 1692. Near the monastery is a 60 m high waterfall – Taktsang waterfall.
Ottobeuren Abbey
Founded in 764. This abbey has a church that is one of the most ornate Baroque and Rococo buildings in world, built in 1737-1766.
Hagia Sophia
A former Orthodox basilica built between 532 – 537 AD, it is now a mosque. Possibly the highest achievement of Byzantine architecture, it has been the largest cathedral in the world for nearly 1000 years. Constructed in 532 – 537.

Škocjan caves
Cave system with numerous unique characteristics: giant, 146 meters deep underground canyon of River Reka, underground travertine terraces, Bronze Age and later temples, and Pre-Christian pilgrimage center.
Borgund stave church
The best preserved Norse stave church, built in between 1180 – 1250 AD, contains runic inscriptions. Representative of the unique Norse wooden architecture that unites Viking, Celtic and Roman elements.
