Lenyadri Caves, Junnar

Kuda Caves

A group of ancient rock-cut Buddhist caves in central Maharashtra at Janjira creek. Kuda Caves were made in the 1st c. BC – 3rd c. AD.

Malayadipatti rock-cut Hindu temples

These rock-cut temples were made in the 8th – 9th century AD and have fine reliefs and paintings. Natural caves nearby with Mesolithic petroglyphs.

Thirunadhikkara Cave Temple

Rock-cut Jain temple from the 7th century AD, in the 9th – 10th century AD turned into Hindu shrine, adorned with frescoes.

A rock-cut four-storied cave temple from the 4th – 5th century AD. Contains valuable artwork including paintings.
