Anton Andersen Memorial Tunnel (Whittier Tunnel)
4.1 km long tunnel – the second longest highway tunnel and the longest combined road and rail tunnel in North America. Basically constructed during the World War II, converted to combined road – rail tunnel in 2000.

Some 2 km long system of tunnels in the depth of some 30 m where approximately 60 families lived during the Vietnam War in 1967 – 1972.

121 km long system of tunnels and underground rooms created for defensive purposes in the late 1960s – 1970s.
