Pakari Brikshya

Enormous, beautiful weeping fig (Ficus benjamina). Circumference of its trunk is approximately 16 – 20 m, height – approximately 20 m but the width of crown – more than 30 m.

Caño Cristales (Cano Cristales)

A unique river. Its bottom is covered with the endemic Macarenia clavigera plants. From late July to November these plants turn bright red. Then this colorful river is one of the most spectacular sights in Colombia.

Del Norte Titan

The stoutest coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens (D. Don) Endl.), with a circumference of 22.73 m, 93.6 m tall. Another great tree – Lost Monarch has a larger circumference: 24.13 m, but this measurement includes multiple stems.

Unusual natural feature – an outflow of hypersaline water, seeping through the ice, tainted with iron oxides in blood color. This approximately 15 m tall fall provides insight into a unique ecosystem that has been isolated from the outside world for 1.5 million years.

Banyan in Lomteuheakal

Many historical villages of Tanna island have giant banyan trees that are located in the center of local culture – dancing place (nasara). The diameter of such trees reportedly reaches 50 m. The tree in Lomteuheakal has an approximate trunk circumference of 26 m. Banyan of Yakel village has a house built on top – this house is used for the circumcision of local boys. Kaluas is considered by locals to be the largest banyan tree in the world. The tree is huge but, unfortunately, no data about its size was found.

Kamou no Ohkusu

Camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora (L.) J.Presl.) with a circumference of 24.2 m. Tree is some 30 m high, with estimated age of 1,5 thousand years.

Reakaly baobab (Ampanihy baobab)

The stoutest baobab Adansonia za (Baill.), girth 23 m (plaque at the tree says that 27 m). One of the largest trees in Madagascar.
