Dagejia Geysers

Dagejia Pohutu geyser

Possibly one of the largest geyser fields in the world reported having some 100 geysers. Dagejia Geyser spouts up to 20 m high and is the largest geyser in Tibet.

Kalarskiy Geyser

Kalarskiy Geyser is a small geyser, or, rather intermittent thermal spring in remote, beautiful area of Siberia. Fountain is some 0.2 – 0.5 m high.

Geothermal fields

Morning Glory Pool in Upper Geyser Basin

The most impressive geothermal fields – areas where the groundwater is heated by magma and forms interesting natural monuments.

Unusual fumaroles

Sulfurous fumaroles of Kawah Ijen and miners of sulfur. The crater lake in the background is made acidic by similar undergound fumaroles.

The most amazing and unusual fumaroles – openings in the ground where heated gases and vapors are emitted.

Geothermal features

Lake Bogoria, geyser and flamingos

The most impressive geothermal features – geysers, geothermal fields, fumaroles and other areas where the groundwater is heated by magma.

Daikoku Sulfur Cauldron

Daikoku Sulphur Cauldron at the moment of discovery, Northern Marianas

A unique pool of liquid sulfur at the summit of a submarine volcano, one of the few in the world.

Kawah Ijen

The blue fire of Kawah Ijen, Indonesia

Turquoise-colored, extremely acid lake with a diameter of 1 km. Acidity – 0.5 pH. Nearly pure deposits of sulfur are located in the caldera. The burning sulfuric gas creates a very impressive blue flame in the night.

North-West Eifuku Champagne Vent

Eifuku Champagne Vent emitting bubbles of liquid carbon dioxide, Northern Marianas

A submarine vent on a volcano that emits almost pure liquid carbon dioxide at 1,600 m depth. Such phenomenon is known in three places on Earth and at Eifuku it is most abundant.

North-Western solfatara field of Shiashkotan

Sinarka volcano on Shiashkotan Island. North-Western solfatara field is in the central part of image, partly obscured with clouds

An interesting geothermal field where in 2007 was discovered a geyser-like spring named "Chornij Drakon" (Black Dragon). Here is located also a spouter "Geizernij" that on a regular basis spurts 1 – 1.5 m high jet of gas and water.
