Robinson Gorge

Temperate forest with a unique level of endemism – out of 211 local plant species 132 are endemic – e.g. met only on this island. The dense forest is formed from trees that are not met anywhere else. Hundreds of endemic species of insects.

Porcupine Gorge

Impressive canyon of Porcupine Creek that is up to 150 m deep. The river has crossected diverse rocks, also – layers of coal. Interesting feature here is Pyramid – a pyramid-shaped monolithic rock.

Cobbold Gorge

Spectacular, narrow chasm with some 30 m tall cliffs on both sides. The narrowest place is just 2 m wide. The stream is spring-fed and thus there always is water. This is a new geological feature, just some 10 000 years old. First visited by white people only in 1992.

Tully Gorge

Impressive canyon of Tully River in virgin rainforest with up to 300 m tall cliffs on both sides. Canyon starts with Tully Falls – some 180 – 210 m tall waterfall.

Lawn Hill Gorge

Picturesque gorge with red-orange sandstone cliffs, up to 60 m deep. Lawn Hill Creek that flows through it, forms lakes in the gorge. There are many calciferous springs and as a result in the gorge has formed the largest travertine barrier in Australia – Indarri Falls.

Spectacular gorge of Lennard River, some 100 m wide, with 30 – 10 m tall walls. Freshwater crocodiles.

Perth Canyon

Inundated river canyon that was similar in size to Grand Canyon in Arizona, United States. Up to 1.5 km deep. It contains the largest plunge pool in the world that once was created by a gargantuan waterfall. It is 2 km long, 6 km wide and 300 m deep.

Murchison River Gorge
