Geothermal field with thermal springs and mud pots. The hottest springs are boiling. Here have existed also intermittent springs.
Warm Mineral Springs
Enormous spring of warm mineral water with healing properties. This is one of the candidates for the legendary “Fountain of Youth” in Florida. The diameter of this spring is approximately 75 m, depth – 70 m. Discharging 390 l/s and considered to be the largest warm mineral spring in the whole world. In the spring have been found well preserved skeletal remains of humans, mastodon, sabertooth tiger.
Little Salt Spring
Water filled, 61 m deep sinkhole. At the depth of 3 m, the water becomes anoxic. Thanks to this in the sinkhole – spring have been preserved numerous examples of prehistoric fauna and remnants of Palaeo-Indians: hundreds of burials from 4,800 – 3,200 BC.
De Leon Springs
Large sulfur spring, discharging 880 l/s of water. Surroundings inhabited since 8000 BC.
Alapaha Rise
Alapaha Rise is the largest river rise in the United States with a discharge of 16,260 l/s.
Thunder Spring
Powerful spring that starts as a 30 m tall waterfall in the rim of the side canyon of Grand Canyon.
Mooney Falls
Approximately 58 m tall waterfall in Havasu canyon. Around the falls are interesting tufa formations, below the falls have formed terraces.
Havasu Falls
A gorgeous, some 30 m tall waterfall in the narrow canyon of Havasu Creek. The water has an unusual blue color that contrasts with the red color of the cliffs. Below the falls are travertine terraces.
Cheyava Falls
The tallest waterfall in Arizona. It starts as a spring from the cave in the wall of the side canyon of Grand Canyon. The total height is approximately 244 m, the tallest drop is approximately 122 m tall. For the most part of the year, it is almost dry.
Beaver Falls in Havasu Canyon
