Kadishi Waterfall
Approximately 200 m tall waterfall – one of the tallest falls over tufa deposits in the world. The cliff resembles a weeping skull.
Pointe au Sel Blowhole (Le Souffleur)
This blowhole has formed on an old lava flow from the Piton des Neiges. Usually it creates some meters tall fountain but during the storms it may get very impressive.
Hummock Point Blowhole
Impressive, a bit slanted blowhole in lava beds at the sea.
Blowhole at Port St Johns

Le Souffleur in Mauritius
Blowhole in volcanic cliffs. It “works” only at certain weather conditions – but then the water shoots up to 15 – 18 m high. Most images of the visitors though show a general wave action around the cliffs and not the blowhole.
Nabro Volcano
Impressive, 2,218 m tall (before the eruption) stratovolcano that was considered to be extinct until it erupted unexpectedly on 13 June 2011. There might be a lava lake in the northern caldera of the volcano.
Mount Nyamuragira
Africa’s most active volcano, 3,058 m high. The volcano has erupted 30 times since 1880 and produces the major part of sulfur dioxide pollution in the world. The volcano has created lava fields. An intense eruption took place also in 2010 and damaged the virgin rainforest. The volcano contains an intermittent lava lake that seems to become more stable and permanent.
