Kincaid Mounds
Remnants of a large city that was created and inhabited by the people of the Mississippian culture in the site where a settlement has existed for millennia. This city flourished around 1050 – 1400 AD and since then here have been preserved at least 11 large mounds. The largest mound is 9 m high.
Cahokia
Site of a native American city that flourished around 1050 – 1350 AD. Some 80 man-made mounds remain in the central part of this city that was one of the world’s largest settlements around 1100. The largest and most influential city of the Mississippian culture, the most significant pre-Columbian urban center north of Mexico. Remains of the city contain some outstanding monuments, such as Monks Mond – the largest pre-Columbian earthwork in the Americas.
Tonto Upper Cliff Dwelling
The largest ancient cliff dwelling in Tonto National Monument. An ancient structure with some 40 rooms in a natural alcove. It was developed and inhabited by Salado culture around 1300 – 1350 AD.
Pueblo Grande Ruins
Remnants of an ancient settlement that was inhabited in 450 – 1450 AD. Represents a large platform, where earlier stood many houses, three ball courts.
Kinishba Ruins
Remnants of an enormous pueblo, where the great house had some 600 rooms. Constructed in the 1100 – 1300s, housed up to 1500 people.
Casa Malpais
Abandoned Mogollan settlement with many interesting monuments. It was inhabited around 1260 – 1400 AD and contains Great Kiva and Solar Calendar – stone enclosure with an opening toward the north and two more that show the winter and summer solstice as well as equinoxes. Nearby are petroglyphs whose symbolics seem to be linked to Solar Calendar.
Agate House Pueblo
Abandoned prehistoric settlement, almost exclusively built from petrified wood. Pueblo had eight rooms, inhabited in 900 – 1200 AD. Partly reconstructed.
White House Ruins
Ruins of Anasazi settlements under a rock overhang. Ruins of a once large building with 80 rooms that were inhabited in 1040 – 1275 AD. Numerous petroglyphs are nearby.

Abandoned Anasazi settlement under a majestic cliff overhang.
Sliding House
Group of Anasazi buildings in improbable location – very steep grotto under cliff overhang. Houses seem to be falling into the abyss. Inhabited around 900 – 1200 AD, originally had 30 – 50 rooms.
