Karahunj (Zorats Karer)

Megalithic necropolis from the 3rd – 2nd millenia BC (?). Contains a ring of upright stones. Some 223 stone tombs are here, from the Middle Bronze Age to Iron Age. Many stones have holes in them and there is a hypothesis that these holes were used in ancient astronomy.
Vrtiglavica cave

643 m deep cave that contains the deepest pitch (single vertical drop) in the world (603 meters). 400 – 440 m tall waterfall inside. Possibly the tallest underground waterfall in the world.
Angel Falls

This is the tallest and one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, with a total height of 979 meters. It has the highest single drop (807 meters) in the world.
Škocjan caves

Cave system with numerous unique characteristics: giant, 146 meters deep underground canyon of River Reka, underground travertine terraces, Bronze Age and later temples, and Pre-Christian pilgrimage center.
Borgund stave church

The best preserved Norse stave church, built in between 1180 – 1250 AD, contains runic inscriptions. Representative of the unique Norse wooden architecture that unites Viking, Celtic and Roman elements.
Kuryong Falls

74 m tall and some 4 m wide waterfall, site of legends.
Carancas crater
Site, where in September 2007 fell a meteorite. It created 4.5 m deep and 13.5 m wide crater. Some local people later became ill, the nature of this illness is not explained.
Vallée de Mai (Vallee de Mai)

Relict of Gondwana, natural palm forest with the endemic coco de mer palm (Lodoicea maldivica) grove and five other endemic palms. Coco de mer grows up to 34 m tall and has the largest seeds in the plant kingdom – up to 42 kg heavy nuts. Many other endemic species of plants and animals, numerous vanilla orchids.
Kamil crater

Well preserved, less than 5,000 years old impact crater. Width is 44.8 m, depth – 15.8 m. Around the crater is still visible the rayed structure created by the blast.
