This waterfall, named after the nearby farmstead (not existent anymore), Jaunvilki Waterfall (also Pilsupe Waterfall) has formed on Pilsupe – a small river. As it meanders through the agricultural fields and forests, approaching Riga Bay, the stream suddenly jumps across its bedrock, forming a picturesque waterfall.

Waterfall has formed on Devonian sandstone that is cemented (naturally) by lime. Jaunvilki Waterfall is divided by a small island into two parts. The right part is richer with water, up to 4.8 m wide. Water flows there throughout the year. The left part is some 4 m wide and during the summer it is dry.
