In detail
There are four small waterfalls on the tributaries that fall into Ogre River in Glāžšķūnis village.
It might be a challenge to pronounce the name of this village! It originates from the early 20th-century glass workshop and means “glass shed”. Earlier the name was even longer: “Zaļais Glāžšķūnis” – “the green glass shed”.
Two most interesting waterfalls in this group are Glāžšķūnis Long Waterfall and Skujenieki Waterfall. Both are small, but, at the same time, picturesque and, definitely add to the charm of this beautiful place.
Skujenieki Waterfall is located on a small, unnamed stream near Skujenieki farmstead. Falls have formed close to Ogre River, just some meters from it.
The water falls over the Upper Devonian sandy dolostone of Ogre Formation.
