Forest of Scalesia daisy trees in Santa Cruz

Spectacular cloud forest dominated by Scalesia pedunculata trees. This is the largest tree in the Asteraceae family and grows up to 15 m tall. These unusual tree-like daisies are endemic to Galápagos and form smaller forest on several islands.

Kamarang Great Falls

Iracoubou St. Joseph Church

This church was built by villagers in 1893. The interior of the church is beautiful – covered with 600 m² large, naive frescoes, painted by the convict Pierre Huguet.

Yumbilla Falls

One of the highest waterfalls in the world. 4 vertical drops have a total height of 895.5 m. Low amount of water.

Cola de Caballo Falls

More than 90 m tall waterfall just a few hundred meters from Arcoiris falls, on the opposite side of the ravine. It slides down a hard Precambrian quartzite rock of Caparu Meseta.

Frederico Ahlfeld Falls

Impressive, 25 – 45 m tall and approximately 60 m wide waterfall. Located in a dramatic and pristine natural setting in Noel Kampff National Park.

Arcoiris Falls

Magnificent, 88 m tall, and approximately 50 m wide waterfall, located in a dramatic and pristine natural setting in Noel Kampff National Park, on the rim of the exotic tableland.

Colonia del Sacramento Old Town

The oldest city in Uruguay, established in 1680. There have been preserved many old buildings and cobblestoned streets of this Portuguese-built city and this seaside city looks very romantic.
