Wakulla Cave System

The longest mapped underwater cave system in the United States where one entrance is at Wakulla Springs. The total length of the explored passages is 72,171 m.

Sally Ward Spring

A spring with a magnificent underwater cave system below it. The length of explored passages is 2,195 m.

Wakulla Spring

One of the most impressive cold water springs in the world, the diameter of this spring pool is 96 meters, its depth is 56.4 meters. One of the most powerful springs in the world, its discharge has reached up to 54,226 liters per second. The water coming out of it has formed a very extensive freshwater cave system.

Jinbar Falls (Jin Bahir Falls)

Jin Bahir stream falls into a giant, 800 m deep abyss in Simien Mountains. Falls are starting from deep canyon – thus their height is less than the depth of abyss but nevertheless – more than 500 m.

St Marks River Rise

The last rise of St Marks River above the ground before its fall in the Gulf of Mexico. This river several times disappears underground and then emerges again.

Indian Spring, Wakulla

A comparatively weak spring that is discharging 17 l of water per second. Dive in this spring leads into a 3,626 m long cave with a strong current.

Cherokee Sink

A rounded jade green pool, 90 by 50 m large, surrounded by 0.5 – 9 m high cliffs. It has steep sides under the water as well and is up to 24.4 m deep. The sinkhole was formed by a collapse of the cave chamber and most likely was considerably deeper in the past.

Óþerrishola (Otherrishola)

Small geyser in Haukadalur geothermal field. Erupts only at low atmospheric pressure – before the rain.

Strokkur

Strokkur is a very intense geyser, erupting 25 – 35 m high every 4 – 8 minutes.

Geysir

Geysir has given the name to the geological phenomenon of geysers. Geysir has been up to 100 m high in the past.
